Magzhan Zhumabaev Higher College is one of the leading professional educational institutions in the North Kazakhstan region for the training and retraining of specialists in technical and vocational, post-secondary education.
The development of informatization processes and the introduction of information technologies in the educational process is one of the main strategic directions of the college.
As part of the implementation of the Zhas Maman project, a Competence Center operates in the college, the purpose of which is to train highly qualified personnel in the field of IT technologies by combining and concentrating modern highly effective educational information resources in the competencies “Network and System Administration”, “Web Design”, “Graphic Design», «Polygraphy", "CAD Engineering Graphics ".
The creation of the Competence Center opens up wide opportunities for the formation of professional competencies of college students. The 3D modeling laboratory is equipped with modern 3D scanners RangeVision Spectrum and calibry, which are equipment for creating three-dimensional models of objects. The information read during scanning is converted into a digital image on the computer. The high level of detail and the availability of complete information about the characteristics of the surface of the object makes the use of 3D scanners especially relevant in science, in the work of designers and scientists. Models of objects obtained with the help of 3D scanners can be printed on a 3D printer. The Makerbot Replicator is the largest model in the fifth generation lineup and offers advanced printing capabilities. Its print resolution level reaches one hundred microns. Students 3D modeling are taught in special resource-intensive software such as 3D MAX Studio, Auto Cad, etc.
The robotics office is equipped with a set of laptops, an Original Prusa i3 3D printer, lego mindstorms and Arduino robotic kits, educational electronic constructors, kits for building a mobile tracked robot, robotic kits for teaching programming, electronics, the basics of robotics and the Internet of things, meets high quality standards and meets safety requirements. All robotic kits are accompanied by teaching materials and licensed software.
The college is the base for the Regional stages of the WorldSkills Kazakhstan championship in the competencies "Web design" and "Graphic design". Graphic and web design training for college students is conducted on modern high-performance laptops and Wacom graphics tablets. Wacom is a custom tablet with a lightweight, ultra-precise digital pen, stylish ergonomic design and easy setup for drawing and editing images. These graphic tablets are easy to set up and use.
The college is working on the implementation of educational programs, the development of professional modules that are integrated into existing curricula, taking into account the requirements of employers. It is planned to introduce programs that meet international industry standards so that students have the opportunity to obtain international certificates.
On the basis of the Competence Center, as part of the final certification, demonstration exams will be held according to WorldSkills standards, in which the competence of students will be assessed in conditions close to industrial ones.
Working with modern equipment allows college students to expand their knowledge in the IT industry, develop professional skills and abilities. College students demonstrate their knowledge in 3D modeling, in robotics, learn the basics of network technologies in laboratory and practical exercises using standard sets of LanCisco and WorldSkills educational equipment.
High-quality theoretical training and an impressive base for practical training will certainly contribute to the training of competitive specialists in the field of IT technologies.
