Today, on February 23, the Department of Education held a round table on the issues of making up for losses in knowledge and improving the quality of education on-line mode.
The round table was attended by representatives of the North Kazakhstan University named after M. Kozybayev, colleges, heads of education departments of the districts and Petropavlovsk, school principals, and the student community.
During the meeting, topical issues on improving the quality of education were discussed.
As part of the execution of the order given by the Minister of Education and Science Aitmagambetov Askhat Kanatovich, the Department of Education, North Kazakhstan University, Higher College named after M. Zhumabayev developed a Comprehensive Plan of eliminating knowledge gaps.
The head of the Center for Methodological Work and Information Technologies in the Field of Education Sarken Roza Sakenovna spoke about the activities carried out in the region to reduce the gaps between rural and urban schools, about projects to correct the knowledge of schoolchildren and forms of work with teachers to provide them with methodological assistance within the framework of the "Mentoring Laboratory".
Another factor in the success of reducing the gap in the quality of education between urban and rural schools is the organization of "patronage" of strong schools over rural schools with low indicators. The experience of such work was shared by Tursynova Saule Nurgalievna, the pricipal of Secondary School No. 25 in Petropavlovsk, which actively cooperates with schools of Ualikhanov district.
Talaspaeva Zhanar Serkeshovna, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Acting Member of the Board for Academic Affairs of the North Kazakhstan University introduced the Plan. It provides for measures aimed at increasing the human resources potential of educational organizations, monitoring and analysis to identify knowledge gaps and practice-oriented work to compensate for the loss of students’ knowledge through the creation of a group of "Digital Officers", the activities of student tutors to work with underperforming and low-performing students.
The volunteer movement of students to help pupils and teachers is one of the aspects that affects the success of the process of restoring students’ knowledge.
Zhandildin Yerlik Borisovich, Director of the Higher College named after M. Zhumabayev, spoke about the volunteer group "Trust", whose activities are aimed at helping basic schools to eliminate gaps in knowledge during distance learning. And Ainura Abiltayeva, a compliance academic officer of SKU, shared her experience of student work in the project "Volunteer Tutors".
Another important issue raised during the round table was the issue of career guidance.
During the distance learning period, SKU holds online meetings and forums with graduates of the region.
The Department of Education has created a regional chat of specialists responsible for career guidance, and also maintains the heading "Your choice is your future!" on the YouTube channel.
In general, a constructive and substantive dialogue of all interested parties took place. Such work will be continued.
